Best practices for sourcing

Highly qualified candidates are being added to the Talent by Blind candidate database daily. To make sure you find the best talent for your organization, we recommend following these best practices.

Sorting

Time

Use the "Time" dropdown to view candidates who have recently joined the talent pool. These candidates are typically highly responsive and motivated to connect with recruiters.

Filtering

Keywords

Use the Keywords search to enter boolean phrases, including AND, OR, NOT. Phrases entered will search the entire candidate profile, not including the candidate's resume.

Note: Operators must be typed in uppercase letters as shown below.

AND - Includes results that match both terms provided

      • Example: python AND java

OR - Includes results that match either terms provided

      • Example: python OR java

NOT - Excludes the term from search results

      • Example: python NOT java

( ) - Operators within parentheses comes first

      • Example: (python NOT java) AND C NOT B

Job Title

Add similar titles or synonyms: Since there are many phrases used to describe similar functions, we recommend adding common synonyms for the job title you are seeking.

Use partial phrases: For example, entering only "Data" under Job Title will return candidates who have had, or have titles such as Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Research Data Scientist, and Senior Data Scientists, etc.

Consider excluding Job Title: If the title is not as critical as the skillset, it may be useful to leave the Job Title filter blank, and build your search off of other filters, such as skills and keywords instead.

Skills

Add desired skills to help our search algorithm prioritize you with the best matches. Popular Skills can be selected from the pre-populated options, or you can use the search bar to enter your own.

Location

Looking for candidates in a specific region? Use the Location filter to enter country, state, metro or city.

Note: Add candidates who are willing to relocate to the location(s) you've specified by ticking the "Include preferred job location" box.

Don't forget to use the following filters to continue to narrow down your search:

  • Work Environment: Use this filter to find candidates who prefer working in-office, hybrid, or fully remote.
  • Visa Sponsorship Requirements
  • Company size
  • Diversity
